Alpine Lakes Chalet
As a hospitality provider, we are taking proactive steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus at the Chalet Motel. Currently, our linen is handled by a commercial laundry service, our cleaning staff uses standard industrial disinfectants to clean surfaces, 20% industrial vinegar is used to clean coffee makers and microwaves, and single-use soap dispensers and amenities are provided.
We are now instituting new protocols that are designed to further reduce the possible spread of Covid19. Additional new practices include special attention to cleaning door handles, light switches, refrigerators, keypads, TV/remotes, furniture, and office equipment with alcohol/chlorine products; minimizing the availability of single use items to those that are specifically requested by guests (e.g., individual packets of sugar/cream/stir sticks); and use of highest temperature water settings on washers and dryers.
These practices are consistent with current recommendations of the Hospitality Industry and Center for Disease Control. We will continue to monitor and evaluate their websites and institute any additional practices that are deemed prudent. Please feel free to contact us with additional questions.

About Our Cozy Little Chalet:
Nestled in the Cascade Mountain foothills of Central Washington at exits 84 & 85 of I-90, the Alpine Lakes Chalet is a 3,700 square foot hospitality business that was originally constructed in 1963. The CHALET offers ten bright and airy first-floor rooms that open onto a parking area, a design common to the Motels of that era.
Accommodations range from economical to deluxe family with four different combinations of single- and double-beds in Queen- and Double mattress sizes.
All rooms are equipped with high-speed WiFi; fiber-optic extended coverage televisions with HDML connections; USB charging stations throughout each room; and a vanity counter with sink separate from main bath and shower. A mini-refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker are provided in all rooms. Each room offers simple décor featuring art and cultural exhibits depicting the culture of the area.
Local Area Overview
The CHALET lies in one of the most diverse, scenic, and historically rich areas of Washington State. Rugged peaks; historic antique shops & museums; and outdoor sporting activities are just minutes away. The CHALET offers easy access to hiking, cycling, horseback riding, mountain biking, snowmobile excursion, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, bird watching, fishing, golfing, and rodeo events. The Prospector Golf Course is just a 15-minute drive from the CHALET; the Sun Country Golf Course is just 30 minutes away. The Cle Elum Municipal Airport is less than 3 miles from the Motel.

Plan your excursions in our Basecamp room where references such as trailmaps, field guides, hiking diaries, forest advisories, and news of local events are available. Share your adventures while sharing a beverage with friends in a comfortable chair; gather around the oversized map table to rout your ascent into the nearby wilderness area; or simply play a game or finish a puzzle. With advance notice, secure storage can be provided to “air out “ your equipment before returning home.
For those preferring motorized transport, nearby towns/cities to visit include Roslyn (an historic coal mining district and location for the TV show “Northern Exposure”, 10 minutes away); Ellensburg/Thorp Mill (numerous antique shops, 30 minutes away); minutes away); Snoqualmie Ski Complex (30 minutes away); Leavenworth (Bavarian-style Village, 90 minutes away) and Seattle (museums, fine dining, theatre, 90 minutes away).

Great Management and a Reasonable Stay
” I came into town late in the evening and the first lodging I came to did not answer the door or the phone so I continued down the road to until I found the Chalet.
I was happy to find that the office was staffed and they had vacancy. On top of that the management was extremely gracious and even showed me to my room to make sure everything was fit to my standards.
This is a great place to stay at a very reasonable price when traveling through Cle Elum. Hopefully you get the opportunity to meet Michael (hotel management) when you stay. He truly cares about his guests! “

” Truck broke down and had to stop to get it fixed the next day. Mike the front desk guy is very friendly and kind and helpful with getting everything situated. Cleaned rooms with all needed necessitates.
